The Las Vegas Heat Track Club is a member of USA Track & Field (the U.S. Governing body of track and field).
Club athletes compete in USATF, Junior Olympic and USA Junior Track & Field competitions on a State, Regional, National and International level.
The Heat is run by Coach Cedric Williams whose athletes compete in running events from 100m to 2500m, jumping events which include Long Jump, and the High Jump. Coach Williams serves as the President of the Las Vegas Heat Youth Club board. Coach Williams is also the Vice-President of the Nevada Association of USATF.
Brooks Lewis (Coach Lew) serves as Vice-President of the Las Vegas Heat Youth Club board and additionally serves as Coach overseeing the East Las Vegas Heat practices located at Eldorado High School.
USATF Youth programs are open to athletes from ages 5 to 18. The USATF Junior progam is open to athletes from ages 14-19. Athletes who are currently enrolled in HIGH SCHOOL may also become a Club Member with opportunities to compete in Youth National, Junior Olympic, Junior National and International competition during the summer. During the High School Track Season, however, the athlete's first responsibility is to their school program. Coach permission should be sought before participating in any Club practices or activities.
